Here we are, at the end of another peak season in Navarre, Florida. Vacation rental revenue will start to go down, the beach rentals will decline, and the service industry will certainly take a hit. However, there are also some things that local’s can look forward to with the peak season coming to a close soon:
1. THE TRAFFIC: Although will still be tight on Highway 98 during rush hours, the out of state tags will be a bit more few and far between. Those of you that commute to Fort Walton Beach or Pensacola, may not have to leave an hour early now!
2. THE BEACH: You can reclaim your beach! The rental beach chairs and umbrella counts will decline, and parking will expand. The temperature even drops below blood boiling to a comfortable heated blanket level. This is one of the BEST times for locals to hit the beach.
3. THE BUTTER: Humidity starts its decline soon. Soon, instead of walking outside to check the mail and feeling like you just hit a wall of hot butter, you may even get back to your home without even breaking a sweat.
4. THE GROCERY STORE: The lines start to subside, the inventory starts to reappear, and not to be repetitive, but the lines start to subside!
5. THE WAIT: Yes! You can go to your favorite local restaurant, and it is conceivable that you are seated right away! Wait times are all but eliminated when the peak season ends.
6. THE SCHOOL: Schools back in! The kids are occupied, and receiving an education! Mom and Dad can go back to work, and get back into their normal routine, if there is such a thing!
7. THE WEATHER: When the Summer comes to a close, and Fall approaches, it is about the best time of the year to enjoy the outdoors in Navarre, Florida. There is no hustle and bustle of spring break, yet the thermometer reads about the same. The water is still very comfortable to swim in, and the fishing activity is still high.
There are many reason to enjoy a summer in Navarre, Florida as well. For those of us that live in the area, we have a bit of a post summer sigh of relief. We made it!

It is that time of the year again, a day to celebrate our nation’s independence! Fireworks will launch from Navarre Beach Marine Park after sunset at around 9pm on July 4th. Fireworks will be visible from both the beach and the sound side east and west of the Navarre Beach Causeway bridge. Be sure to prepare for heavy traffic, and drive safely!
If that for sale sign is showing some age, it might be time to consider renting out your home instead. Many folks are finding out that their home isn’t worth what they want to sell it for, or maybe they just aren’t willing to sell at the current market value, so renting is an option. It brings in an income and can possibly allow the homeowner to hold on to the property and then sell it when the market turns around again. Navarre Beach Realty specializes in long term rental property management. Allow us to take the hassle out of becoming a landlord!

Summer is right around the corner! Lets face it we all love to hang out on the beach on that perfect summer day! But lets be real for a minute, we have to be safe when it comes to spending time in those rays here are a few tips!
1. protect your lips!
Wear a chap stick that has some SPF in it at least 15 SPF.
2. Make up with SPF!
Hey ladies when looking that new it product ensure that the makeup you decide to wear contains some form of SPF and always apply a moisturizer that contains SPF.
3. Wear it early, wear it often!
Apply sunblock before you put you head outside. this allows for the product to set before seeing those rays and also prevents it from sweating off or coming off in the water. Reapply sunblock every couple hours, even in spots that are not exposed to the sun!
4. Block that sun!
Find spots that are shaded if possible! Bring an umbrella or beach tent with you. This helps keep you cooler as well as helps block and harsh UV rays.
5. Stay hydrated!

Summer is right around the corner and everyone is starting to get fit! But exercise alone won’t help you get the body you wish for, you also have to eat clean! Here are a few tips that will help you reach your fitness goal!
1. Cut it out!
Cut out over processed foods that are high in fat and sugar. Look at the labels of the food you eat if you have a struggle pronouncing its ingredients, then it probably best that you put it back on the shelf! Your body is a temple why fill it up with food that is bad for you?!
2. Shop on the outer perimeter of the grocery store.
Stores were all built similarly, with produce, dairy, and meat departments on the perimeter of the store. Shop mostly in these areas this ensures that what you consume and cook will be fresh.
3. Go to the farmers market!
Farmers markets are the best places to get foods that high in nutrition and flavor. Not to mention they are local, mostly organic, and you support a small business.
4. Talk to your doctor.
Make sure you are taking the appropriate steps to bettering your health. Sit down with your doctor and draw out a plan for you and your family!
5. Have fun.
Exercise doesn’t have to be hard work! Take a dance class or grab your friends for a fun group walk or run!
6. Make smart choices when you eat out.
Most restaurants provide calorie charts for their menu items. Look at what is available and what you could possibly eat. You don’t always have to eat salad and hummus!
7. Love your body!
This is most important! Reach a realistic goal that you can reach! Weather it takes you a few weeks or a few years as long as you love yourself that is most important!
Ouch! Its that time of year where the bugs come out, and they are biting! Here are a few ways to protect yourself and your home from these critters!!
Mosquitos thrive in bodies of water, they lay their eggs in bodies of water. Unfortunately for us Floridians it rains here on a regular basis. But a few things you can do to prevent mosquitos around your house is to go in your yard and empty out containers that are retaining water. This prevents the mosquitos from laying their eggs therefore keeping them away from your yard. Check for old wasps nests, take them down if they are unoccupied, if they are please call your local exterminator. Get your yard sprayed every quarter this helps keeps critters at bay. Keep ants at a minimum by placing ant killer around their mound.
Bugs are attracted to sweet scents. Yes you may love your perfume but if you are going to be outside for most of the day its best to not wear it.
Wear unscented lotions and sunblock, again insects love sweet smells.
Apply bug repellant early and often.
